MLV Empire / Services / Web application development

Web applications, built on software that already runs.

Web application development · Johor Bahru · Malaysia

A web application is software your customers or staff log in to and work in — a portal, a booking system, a dashboard, an approval flow. We build them on the same stack our own products run on in production, and reuse the parts those products already have, so you pay for your application rather than for its plumbing.

In short

MLV Empire builds web applications for Malaysian businesses from Johor Bahru — customer portals, booking and ordering systems, internal dashboards, approval workflows and marketplaces. They are built by the engineering team of our technology partner, Asli One Global, on the stack that runs AsliCRM, Asli Dine and Asli ERP in production: Next.js and React front-ends, Node.js or .NET back-ends, and PostgreSQL. Starting from working code means a custom build costs less and ships sooner than one started from zero. Every project is quoted in writing against a written scope.

What we build

01.01

Customer portals

Where your customers log in to see their orders, documents, invoices or service history — instead of asking for them on WhatsApp.

01.02

Booking & ordering systems

Appointments, rooms, classes, deliveries or orders, with availability, confirmations by email and a back office for your staff.

01.03

Internal dashboards

The numbers your managers ask for every Monday, computed from the records your operation already writes, not assembled by hand from exports.

01.04

Approval workflows

Purchase requests, leave, quotations, claims: who submits, who approves at which amount, and a record of every decision.

01.05

Marketplaces

Buyers and sellers or customers and providers on one platform, each with their own login, listings and orders. Larger platforms are scoped with our SaaS development team.

01.06

Integrations

Your web app connected to the systems you keep — accounting software, a CRM, an ERP — through their APIs or import formats, checked before we quote.

02

Website, web application, or a product you can subscribe to?

Three different jobs at three different prices. Picking the right one first saves the most money.

You needWhat we would actually say
Pages that tell people who you are and let them contact youA website, not a web app. See website design & development — from about RM2,500, with an admin panel you edit yourself.
A standard CRM, restaurant POS, school system or legal practice systemSubscribe or license one of ours first. AsliCRM, Asli Dine, Asli Campus or Asli Lex may already do it. If it nearly does, we extend it — see CRM development and ERP development.
People log in and do work: book, order, approve, track, reportA web application. That is this page.
The same app on phones, with offline use or the cameraA web app that works on phones may be enough; if not, a mobile app sharing the same back-end.
Software you will sell to other businesses by subscriptionA SaaS product. See SaaS development: tenancy, billing and metering are their own work.

Built on the stack our products run on

Not a list assembled for a proposal. This is what the three products below are built with, today.

Product (in production)Front-endBack-end & data
AsliCRMNext.js, React, TypeScriptNext.js server, Prisma, PostgreSQL
Asli DineNext.js, React, TypeScript; offline point of sale using a service worker and IndexedDBNode.js with tRPC, Drizzle ORM, PostgreSQL, Redis-backed job queue
Asli ERPReact, TypeScript, Vite.NET 8 API, PostgreSQL, each company's data kept separate

What that gives a new web application, before anyone writes a line specific to you:

  • Sign-in, roles and permissions — Asli Dine alone runs twelve staff roles with different access.
  • Multiple companies or branches in one system, each kept separate — how Asli ERP serves each company on its own subdomain.
  • Working when the internet doesn't — Asli Dine's point of sale keeps taking orders through an outage and syncs afterwards.
  • Documents customers act on — AsliCRM's quotations are a link the buyer opens and accepts online.
  • Email that arrives — sent through Aslio, our own email service, rather than a mail setting that quietly stops working.
  • Imports, exports and web forms — CSV in and out, and website forms that write straight into the system.

How a project runs

Five steps. You know the price before any build work starts, and you see working software at every milestone.

04.01

Discovery

You show us the spreadsheet, the paper form or the WhatsApp group the app will replace, and who uses it. We show you the closest thing we already run, so the conversation starts from something working.

04.02

Written scope & fixed quote

We write down what will be built, what will not, and the milestones — then quote each milestone in ringgit against that document. You approve it before work starts. Anything new later is quoted the same way, not slipped in.

04.03

Build in milestones

The first milestone is the smallest version your team or customers can genuinely use. Each following milestone adds to it, and each is working software on a real address, not a mock-up.

04.04

Handover

Deployment, moving your existing data across, training for the people who will use it, and the full source code with its documentation.

04.05

Support

After go-live we stay on it: fixes, small changes and hosting, on a monthly arrangement or per request — whichever you choose in the quote.

05

How it's priced

Quoted in writing, against a written scope. There is no rate card on this page because a booking page for one outlet and a portal for a thousand customers with approvals and an accounting link are not the same job. The quote is fixed per milestone, in Malaysian ringgit, and you have it before you commit to anything.

Building on the stack our products already run on keeps the number down: sign-in, roles, email, imports and exports are reused, not rebuilt, so your quote is mostly the part that is specific to your business. If one of our products already does what you need, we will point you to it instead.

Ownership is agreed in writing before work starts: either full assignment of the bespoke work to you, or a lower price where the underlying platform core stays ours and is licensed to you for as long as you use the system. Either way you receive the source code of what we built for you, and you are never locked out of your own data.

MLV Empire is the contracting party — a Malaysian company (SSM 202603009657) in Johor Bahru. The engineering is done by the team of our technology partner, Asli One Global, working to the same written scope. You deal with one company, in ringgit.

Hosting and data: by default the system runs on our technology partner's cloud servers, which are outside Malaysia; if your policy requires it, we quote it in your own cloud account or a region you choose. See security & data. Prices are in Malaysian ringgit. SST is added where it applies.

Frequently asked questions

Q.01How much does web application development cost in Malaysia?

It is quoted in writing against a written scope, fixed per milestone, in ringgit. A simple booking system and a customer portal with approvals and an accounting link are different jobs, so we price the scope you send rather than publish a rate card. Prices are in Malaysian ringgit and SST is added where it applies.

Q.02What is the difference between a website and a web application?

A website mainly presents information and takes enquiries. A web application is software people log in to and do work in — booking, ordering, approving, tracking or reporting. If you only need a website, see our website design and development service, from about RM2,500.

Q.03What technology do you build web applications with?

Next.js and React with TypeScript on the front-end, Node.js or .NET on the back-end, and PostgreSQL for data — the same stack that runs AsliCRM, Asli Dine and Asli ERP in production.

Q.04Are you a web app developer in Johor Bahru?

MLV Empire is a Malaysian company registered in Johor Bahru (SSM 202603009657) and works with businesses across Malaysia. It is your contracting party; the engineering is done by the team of our technology partner, Asli One Global, which builds and runs the products we sell.

Q.05Will the web app work on phones and when the internet drops?

Every web application we build works in a phone's browser. Where the job needs it, it can also keep working offline and sync afterwards, as Asli Dine's point of sale does. If you need app-store apps, we build those too, sharing the same back-end.

Q.06Who owns the web application you build?

Agreed in writing before work starts: full assignment of the bespoke work to you, or a lower price where the platform core stays ours and is licensed to you. Either way, at handover you receive the source code of what we built for you, with deployment, data migration, training and the option of ongoing support. By default it is hosted on our technology partner's cloud servers outside Malaysia, or in your own cloud account if you prefer.
